I’m writing to urge you to reject the terrible DHS funding ‘deal’ struck between Trump and Republicans. No Democrat should vote for a single additional penny for ICE and Border Patrol, or give their votes to a full DHS funding bill that fails to impose serious restrictions on those violent, lawless agencies. Requiring ICE and CBP to follow the law, not abuse people, remove their immunity from prosecution, and identify themselves are basic and reasonable restrictions on their behavior. Republicans are on the ropes. Americans are hugely in favor of restrictions on DHS personnel. We can get TSA funding passed without giving ICE or Border Patrol more resources to terrorize our communities. Don’t cave now!
