I am writing to implore you to vote NO to approval of any further funding of DHS. I believe we are at a point where several departments under DHS are in dire need of reassessment, if not dismantling altogether. The current situation is unstainable in our democratic republic. I and your other constituents have watched in horror the execution of two American citizens in the past two weeks or so at the hands of out-of-control and poorly-trained ICE/CBP agents. Both situations were inexcusable, yet it seems that it is unlikely that any action or correction will be taken, and the lack of independent investigations of either incident is unacceptable. It is also unfathomable to me that the White House and some of your fellow congresspeople are engaging in vile rhetoric directed towards the victims. I can't imagine being the families of these individuals and having the POTUS , the Director of Homeland Security and other senior staff call my loved one a "domestic terrorist" or "an assassin," and twist the reality that we all saw played out to fit a narrative far from the truth. Surely as a veteran, you fought for all of our rights, including 1A . Please do not agree to further funding of DHS!
