Release Ethics Committee report on Matt Gaetz allegations
To: Rep. Loudermilk
From: A constituent in Cartersville, GA
November 19
The House Ethics Committee is facing immense pressure to release its report detailing the investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use against former Rep. Matt Gaetz. As President-elect Trump's nominee for attorney general, it is imperative that the Senate have access to this information during the confirmation process to properly vet Mr. Gaetz's background and suitability for such a high-ranking position. Releasing the report would uphold principles of government transparency and accountability, allowing the public to understand the full scope of the committee's findings. The allegations against Mr. Gaetz are serious, involving potential illegal activities with a minor. There is precedent for disclosing ethics reports on former members, and the public interest is served by making this information available for review before he assumes a critical law enforcement role overseeing the Department of Justice. I urge the Ethics Committee to vote in favor of releasing the Gaetz report to the Senate and public without delay.
