Nuanced reforms for equitable policing and public safety

To: Sen. Merkley, Rep. Bynum, Sen. Wyden

From: A constituent in Portland, OR

February 2

Removing factual health information from public websites risks endangering public wellbeing by depriving people of accurate and potentially life-saving knowledge. Government health agencies have a duty to provide comprehensive, scientifically-grounded data to citizens transparently. Censoring such resources undermines public trust and harms efforts to educate the populace on vital issues. I urge maintaining the full availability of vetted CDC materials in the interests of an informed society capable of making sound decisions to safeguard collective welfare.
