If the Senate passes the House Republicans’ proposed budget, this Republican president will have the power to: • Legally delay or cancel elections. • Legally ignore Supreme Court rulings with no accountability. • Legally fire government workers he claims are disloyal to him. • Legally give him control of the judicial and legislative branches of government. This Republican-proposed budget will: • Forbid judges from charging the president or other officials with contempt of court. • Allow protests, and protestors to be tracked and criminalized. This proposed budget will rewrite the laws so this Republican president can legally do what the Constitution now forbids him from doing. This proposed budget will destroy the framework of our democratic republic and create an autocracy in its place. My wife and I urge you to vote against this Republican administration’s blatant power grab. Please vote ‘no’ on this proposed budget.
