President Trump's face could soon appear on a $250 bill as part of the Trump administration's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the country. The law currently states no living president can appear on currency, but the administration is preparing for the possibility that Congress will pass legislation authorizing the special Trump bill. "It's all in the hands of… Capitol Hill," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in the White House briefing room Thursday. "We prepared things in advance… but we will stick to the law." Please, do not change the law to accommodate Trump's face appearing on currency. Trump has already departed from norms when he planned for his signature to newly printed money and has put his face on a commemorative coin. His face is on National Park passes, on the Kennedy Center. His face is on banners at government builds all over DC, that are reminiscent of those in Authoritarian countries. He plans to put his face on newly issued passports. He has put his name on the US Institute of Peace, and he has even named policy initiatives, such as the Trump accounts after himself. This is not normal! Trump is reshaping our country in his image as if he is a dictator and a god. It must end now! Vote no on allowing his face on currency while he is alive!
