An Open Letter

To: Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Dean, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Oreland, PA

September 26

This morning I read that President Trump and his administration are taking back $1 billion in funding that has already been appropriated for various causes. This is yet another example of Trump usurping power that is not his. The constitution is plain in that Congress has the power of the purse. This funding was approved by bipartisan representatives of the PEOPLE. "We the people" is the opening phrase of the US Constitution, not "me, the all powerful Donald Trump." You must realize that he is tremendously unpopular. The American people do not agree with actions like these. Will you let him trample all over the constitution and spit in the faces of his constituents? It's long past time for you, especially you, Senator McCormick and you, Senator Fetterman (a quasi Republican), to stand up to Trump. The people will support you, so find your courage and do what's right for the country. We do not want to live in an authoritarian state, and I fear we are practically there already.
