REMOVE IMMUNITY FROM CONTEMPT OF COURT FROM THE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL

To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley

From: A verified voter in Lake Ozark, MO

May 25

The proposed budget bill contains concerning provisions that undermine democracy and the rule of law. It would prohibit federal agencies from implementing orders issued by courts regarding policies under the Administrative Procedure Act. This blatantly violates the separation of powers and allows the executive branch to disregard judicial rulings, eroding crucial checks and balances. As a matter of principles, no branch of government should be above the law or able to defy legally binding court orders without consequence. I urge you to reject any provisions that permit federal agencies to violate court orders, as this poses a grave threat to our democratic system of government and the supremacy of the Constitution.
