Former president Trump couldn’t pass an infrastructure bill during his four-year tenure as president, but now he wants to quickly mastermind a plan to deport tens of millions of immigrants. Let’s ignore for a second the fact that a lot of the immigrants he’s threatening with deportation are here legally, like the Haitian immigrants in Ohio that he’s threatening to deport to Venezuela. How is he going to construct the massive infrastructure that would be needed for such a project? He couldn’t get an infrastructure bill together when he was in office even though he had “infrastructure week” every few months. He didn’t have a healthcare plan to replace the ACA even though he claimed numerous times that he would have one ready “in two weeks.” At the debate he admitted he had no healthcare plan. He said he had “concepts of a plan.” This would be laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic and dangerous. Trump and Vance are now doubling down on their hateful rumors about immigrants in Springfield, Ohio. How can you align yourself with these hateful people? You’re complicit in letting these hateful people spread harmful racist rumors. If we deported all the immigrants, you know that the industry in North Carolina would be adversely affected. The farms and meat processing plants would be severely impacted. Florida and California would be even more adversely impacted. Prices for everything would skyrocket. What has happened to your party? I used to be a Republican because I believed in smaller government, but the party has changed over the years. It is now the party of white nationalism, and hatred of people of color, foreigners and LGTBQ people. It is now the party of book banning. It is now the anti-science party. You seem to be really weirdly concerned about controlling who people choose to love and how they choose to live their lives. Women and children are suffering and dying because of your sick desire to control women and take away their bodily autonomy. Republicans used to claim to support law and order, but now you support a con man for president who has been convicted of housing discrimination, charity fraud, education fraud, sexual assault, campaign finance fraud, and filing false financial documents to hide another crime, plus being credibly accused of taking thousands of top secret documents and then refusing to return them and lying about it. Not to mention that he tried to incite an insurrection when he lost the 2020 election and became the only president in history to refuse to participate in a peaceful transfer of power. You also blindly support Supreme Court justices who openly take millions of dollars in bribes. I’m just wondering how low you will go. What will it take for you to reflect and reclaim your humanity? You are on the wrong side of history. There is still time for you to grow and change if you have the intelligence and courage to face what your party has become.
