An Open Letter

To: Rep. Baeth, Gov. Reynolds, Sen. Petersen

From: A constituent in Des Moines, IA

April 9

I urge you to oppose anymore data centers in Iowa and especially the Des Moines area. We already have 69 in Iowa with more planned. I am gravely concerned about their unprecedented water usage. How is this helping Iowans? The centers increase the temperature for miles surrounding each one. The homes nearby suffer from sound, vibration, and light pollution. Also, home values decrease due to this. We do not need to be known as a data center hub. We are need to protect our beautiful land and Iowans. Please consider a moratorium or laws to stop and/or limit the expansion. Enough is enough.
