I am writing to demand that you immediately oppose any further U.S. military action against Iran and move to end all U.S. support for Israel. Support for Israel — including accepting AIPAC donations or campaign assistance — was already unacceptable after decades of illegal occupation, apartheid, and the genocide in Gaza. But Secretary of State Marco Rubio has now made something even more damning explicit: the United States attacked Iran when it did because Israel was going to attack. Rubio said: “We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action. We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn’t preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties.” He also said: “There absolutely was an imminent threat. And the imminent threat was, that we knew that if Iran was attacked, and we believed that they would be attacked, that they would immediately come after us.” That is an extraordinary admission. By Rubio’s own words, the U.S. escalated because it expected Israel’s actions to trigger retaliation. This is not defensive restraint. It is participation in a catastrophic regional war shaped by Israeli escalation and enabled by U.S. complicity. Congress cannot hide behind process while this continues. Your oath requires action. I expect you to: - Oppose any new authorization or funding for military action against Iran - Work to end U.S. participation in this war immediately - Block weapons transfers, funding, intelligence support, and diplomatic cover for Israel - Publicly reject AIPAC influence and all political support tied to enabling these crimes - Use Congress’s constitutional authority to stop this escalation now Israel’s actions are devastating Palestinians and destabilizing the entire region, while dragging the United States into wider war and putting countless lives at risk — including Iranian civilians, Palestinians, Americans, and others across the Middle East.
