Oppose Harmful Provisions in the Budget Reconciliation Bill

To: Rep. Cleaver, Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt

From: A verified voter in Lees Summit, MO

May 12

I’m your constituent and I’m contacting my legislators to urge that you oppose the budget reconciliation bill and its harmful cuts to vital government programs. Specifically, I’m very concerned about the cuts to student aid, the cuts to federal worker retirement benefits, the defunding of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the roll back of green energy grants, the partisan attack on federal regulations, the defense department’s handouts to Elon Musk, and the limit on federal judges’ ability to hold the Trump administration accountable. Congress should pass a fair and responsible budget that helps working families and communities, not one that slashes our benefits to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. Don't bow down to billionaires, stand with the people!
