Investigate Elon Musk's Unilateral Decision to Cut Ukraine's Starlink Access Investigate how Elon Musk came to unilaterally cut off Ukraine's access to Starlink during an active war. According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. officials say Musk made this decision on his own. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the administration was blindsided: "There was no foreknowledge." A private citizen with government contracts should not have the power to tip battlefield outcomes in Russia's favor without any authorization from elected officials. This is not a partisan question. It is a question about who actually controls American foreign policy. Musk owns a major communications platform, holds enormous federal contracts, and by multiple accounts acted outside any chain of command when he pulled the plug on Ukraine. That is a national security crisis, not a business dispute. Congress must find out exactly what happened, who authorized it, and what legal authority, if any, Musk had to act. The answer will determine whether private contractors can override U.S. foreign policy whenever it suits them. That precedent cannot stand.
