Due process is foundational to our legal system

For weeks, the Trump Administration has been violating the due process rights of immigrants residing in our country with documented legal status that Trump and his cohorts have arbitrarily and capriciously revoked. More recently, Trump Administration officials have publically mused that they may suspend habeas corpus for some people they target.
This demands congressional action now.
Congress established the right to due process for all in the United States, without defining favored or disfavored classes that could be imprisoned, renditioned, or disappeared without access to legal hearing and contestation of their treatment. Congress must act to reaffirm its commitment to these bedrock, constitutional principles, because it is certain that if any of us can have the full weight of the federal government brought to bear on us without due process of law, then all of us can expect the same treatment. What a government can do to one it can do to us all.
