Push To Reverse The Dangerous AI Export Ban On Fable 5 (Part 2)

And another thing, the backstory to the Fable 5 ban is pure bureaucratic comedy. Anthropic’s leadership went to the Bureau of Industry and Security to fast-track licensing. Regulators demanded immediate proof that the model couldn’t be jailbroken. When standard cybersecurity answers failed, the CEO tried a live demo, dropped buggy code into the system, and said, "watch it patch these security holes." The audience panicked and forwarded it to the NSA. The NSA’s response? "It fixes code too well. Adversaries might use it." The BIS panicked and triggered a global kill switch. This is just the NSA defending its own legacy backdoors and data-slurping methods—exploits that American companies could patch in ten minutes of advanced AI processing if they were allowed to use the tool. Git gud, NSA. What Fable 5 does today will be matched by open-source models within a month. China will likely release a distilled version of this tech in weeks. Yet, we have technophobes dictating policy without relying on actual experts. It is the same pattern visible across the cabinet: letting RFK Jr. run health policy, Linda McMahon dismantle education, Lee Zeldin gut the EPA, or Kelly Loeffler commercialize public school funding. Allowing administrative luddites to dictate an AI future that moves faster than the experts can track is like letting a blind man play the most high-stakes game of pickleball in human history. We are disarming our own tech sector while our global adversaries move forward unimpeded. Reverse this absolute clown show of a ban immediately.
