Vote no on Todd Blanche's confirmation as attorney general. Blanche was Trump's personal defense lawyer, and he is running the Justice Department like it still is. On May 19, he signed an immunity deal — alone, without Senate input — that permanently shields Trump, his children, and affiliated parties from "all claims," "causes of action," and even tax "examinations" by the United States government. That is not law enforcement. That is a cover-up with a government seal on it.
The deal matters because there is a lot to cover up. Trump's family has collected billions through crypto ventures, foreign mining deals, and federal contracts steered to companies they back — all since January. Pardons have gone to convicted health care fraudsters and financial criminals. Suspicious stock trades preceded major policy announcements. Blanche's immunity deal puts all of it beyond reach, forever. The Senate should not hand any attorney general that kind of power over a sitting president's personal finances, let alone one who already demonstrated he sees Trump as his client. Block this confirmation.
