I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent demanding that you immediately oppose any effort to use taxpayer funds for Donald Trump’s so-called “ballroom” project at the White House.
Let’s be clear: this project has been surrounded by troubling actions from the start. Parts of the White House complex were destroyed without proper transparency or public accountability to make way for this vanity construction. The American people did not ask for this, did not approve it, and should not be forced to pay for it.
Even more concerning, this project was explicitly described as something that would be funded through private donations. That promise matters. If private funding was the justification used to move forward, then shifting the burden onto taxpayers now is not just dishonest—it is an abuse of public trust.
And now we see members of Congress entertaining the idea of using federal funds to finish it? At a time when Americans are struggling to afford food, housing, healthcare, and education? At a time when we are told there is “no money” for feeding hungry children, paying teachers a living wage, or ensuring families can access basic medical care?
You cannot claim fiscal responsibility while considering funding a luxury construction project that serves no public need. You cannot tell working Americans to tighten their belts while opening the federal checkbook for political vanity.
This is not governance—it is favoritism and misplaced priorities.
I am demanding the following:
No taxpayer dollars be used—directly or indirectly—for this project.
Full transparency regarding any alterations made to the White House complex.
Accountability for any misuse of authority or violation of preservation laws.
A firm commitment from Congress to prioritize real American needs over political indulgence.
Your oath is to the Constitution and to the American people—not to any one individual. Uphold it.
Do your job. Protect taxpayer dollars. And focus on the urgent needs of the people you were elected to serve.
