President Trump's executive order for the CPB to stop funding PBS and NPR is shameful, unconstitutional, and cruel. I am a lifelong listener to NPR and what I'll say, as a leftist, is that their news coverage does not lean left enough. President Trump's assertion that the coverage is biased speaks to how frighteningly uninformed he is about what both instutions do for the public and indicates that he would rather have an uniformed and uneducated public that allows him to follow his brutal, vindictive whims without any resistance. He wants an ignorant population -- not a particularly Amercian sentiment. As a constituent, I am asking that my representatives in Congresss advocate for continued funding for NPR and PBS, wheter through the CPB or other means, and continue to support local news and informed public.
