Mr. President, I’ve supported you for a long time, and I’m grateful for your service to our nation. Today I’m begging you to step aside and put your support behind Kamala Harris as the 2024 presidential candidate. I don’t know if your handlers are shielding you from public opinion or if you are being willfully closed-minded, but nobody thinks you are in a good position to beat Trump in November. Millions of Democrats are scared to death of the impact of a second Trump administration, and you’re quoted saying that you’ll feel good about a Trump win if you’ve done your best? Mr. President, that’s not good enough. The only thing that matters right now is beating Trump. The knock-on effect of voter apathy for your candidacy will guarantee Republican control of Congress and local governments. If this happens we can kiss our democracy goodbye. It’s time to graciously step aside and let the next generation take the wheel before you drive our nation into a fat, orange, fascist tree. I hope I’ll know when it’s time to give up the keys to my car. Please listen to the nation. It’s time to step aside.
