Trump deploying the California National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos. In addition to the recent ICE raids in Southern California and across our nation, it is part of the Trump regime's cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division and we KNOW he has sent people to START violence so he can lie and claim they are not peaceful. GOP cannot fool the people - we know your agenda.​ The move is an alarming abuse of power - and a slap in the face to all governors, of either party. Governors are the Commanders-in-Chief of their National Guard. The federal government activating them without consulting or working with a state’s governor is ineffective and dangerous. And threatening to send the U.S. Marines into American neighborhoods undermines the mission of our service members, erodes public trust, and shows the Trump administration does not trust local law enforcement. It’s important we respect the executive authority of our country’s governors to manage their National Guards. We must stand with California Governor Gavin Newsom who has made it clear that violence is unacceptable and that local authorities should be able to do their jobs without the chaos of this federal interference and intimidation. Newsom has rightfully announced that he is suing the Trump regime for their lack of coordination with his office during this fascist maneuver: “We are suing Donald Trump. This is a manufactured crisis. He is creating fear and terror to take over a state militia and violate the U.S. constitution. The illegal order he signed could allow him to send the military into ANY STATE HE WISHES. Every governor -- red or blue -- should reject this outrageous overreach. There's a lot of hyperbole out there. This isn't that. This is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism that threatens the foundation of our republic. We cannot let it stand.” Our Congress, as an independent branch of government, needs to loudly and clearly voice their disapproval with what is a clear abuse of power by Trump - and they need to voice their support of Governor Newsom's lawsuit. Donald Trump needs to hear from a co-equal branch of Congress that this action will not stand. Please speak up now. THIS IS NOT RUSSIA - STOP THS ADMINISTRATION’S ABUSE OF POWER BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WILL NOT EVER ALLOW AUTHORITARIANISM NOR DICTATORSHIP.
