The Department of Education plays a vital role in ensuring access to quality education for all Americans, supporting teachers and schools, and promoting educational equity. Terminating this department would undermine these critical efforts, remove protections that allow students with disabilities the right to an appropriate education, and jeopardize the future of our nation's youth. I urge you to reconsider this misguided proposal. Instead, we should be investing more resources into education to empower the next generation and strengthen our workforce and economy. Quality education is the foundation of a thriving society, and dismantling the Department of Education would be a disservice to our children and communities.
