No National Guard against Missouri residents

To: Rep. Keathley, Gov. Kehoe, Sen. Gregory

From: A verified voter in Chesterfield, MO

October 1, 2025

"Authorizing" the deployment of the National Guard in Missouri is a terrible idea. These protests have been peaceful. It has already been shown once that the National Guard is not needed. See this article: https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/local/missouri-national-guard-will-assist-ice-deportations-kehoe/63-dca08193-f8b4-4f27-96ac-c6397b29f048 Quote: "Kehoe nearly deployed the National Guard in June when he declared a state emergency over anti-ICE and anti-Trump 'No Kings' protests. All of the protests ended up being peaceful, and the guard wasn't deployed." The only escalation to violence is coming from ICE, law enforcement, and elected officials. People just want to live their lives in peace and safety. No one WANTS to go out and protest cruelty and injustice once a month or more. No one WANTS to have to fight and equality and basic recognition as a human. Protesters protest when their elected officials are NOT DOING THEIR JOBS. When elected officials are VIOLATING THEIR OATHS OF OFFICE. We need you to help and protect your constituents. Don't go to war against us. Don't let a rogue president convince you that your own neighbors are your enemies. I call upon Missouri's governor and legislature to protect Missouri's people. Withdraw the National Guard and prevent ICE from kidnapping and hurting and terrifying Missouri's residents. We need your help, not your enmity.
