Support highest possible FY26 appropriations for science

To: Sen. Bennet, Rep. Neguse, Sen. Hickenlooper

From: A verified voter in Boulder, CO

November 18

As a constituent and a supporter of science, I am writing to ask that you support the highest possible funding levels for science in FY26 appropriations and work to pass appropriations as soon as possible. While I am thankful the government has reopened- bringing furloughed employees back to work and ensuring they will receive back pay, and resuming federal grantmaking and re-opening federal facilities critical to the rest of the scientific enterprise- continuing resolutions present ongoing challenges for science. Under a CR, agencies cannot start new programs, and existing programs cannot be stopped. To allow the scientific enterprise to flourish and keep the American innovation competitive, we need to fully fund science by passing FY26 appropriations.
