Whip the War Powers Vote Now — End U.S. Military Aggression Against Iran

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet, Rep. Crow

From: A verified voter in Littleton, CO

March 3

Trump has launched military attacks on Iran with U.S. participation in a joint U.S.-Israeli campaign, and the administration is already threatening further escalation, including boots on the ground. Congress was ignored. The American people were ignored. This is an outrageous abuse of power. Let me be clear: Congress must act immediately to stop this war — and Congress must not authorize it. There is no justification for U.S. military aggression against Iran. Period. War Powers Resolutions are on the table now: - H. Con. Res. 38 (Khanna–Massie) in the House - S.J. Res. 104 (Kaine–Paul) in the Senate These resolutions must be brought forward and passed immediately to terminate U.S. involvement in hostilities against Iran. Democratic leadership cannot keep hiding behind statements while slow-walking the one mechanism that can help stop escalation. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries must whip votes now. Anything less is complicity. The administration and its media allies are manufacturing consent in real time. We are being told this war is “defensive,” yet Congressional staff were reportedly briefed that Iran was not planning to strike U.S. forces unless Israel attacked first. That is not an imminent threat to the United States. That is not legal or moral justification for war. The only acceptable response to this information is to stop Israel from assaulting, instigating, and escalating across the Middle East. And this can only be done by ending military aid to Israel. Even if a president sought congressional authorization, the answer should still be no. Congress must reject this war outright. Americans are already dead. Iranians and others across the region are being killed. The risk of a catastrophic regional war is growing by the hour. Congress cannot act like a bystander while the executive branch and its allies drag everyone toward mass death and wider destruction. This is not a messaging exercise. It is a constitutional and moral emergency. I am demanding that you: - Vote YES on the War Powers Resolution in your chamber - Publicly demand Schumer/Jeffries whip votes immediately - Oppose any further military escalation, including ground troops - Oppose any authorization for war against Iran - Oppose any funding that expands or continues this war - Use every available power to end U.S. military aggression now The American people do not want this war. Congress has no excuse for silence, delay, or cowardice. No war on Iran. No authorization. No excuses.
