Congress Answers to the Constitution—Not Donald Trump

To: Rep. Feenstra, Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley

From: A constituent in Huxley, IA

July 18

I’m writing to demand that you remember *exactly* who you work for: the American people, not Donald Trump. The Founders gave *Congress*—not the president—the first and foremost powers in our Constitution for a reason. Article I wasn’t a suggestion; it was a mandate to *check* executive overreach, not enable it. Yet what do we see? A legislative branch that too often acts like a rubber stamp or a cheering section for a man who openly admires dictators and scorns accountability. This isn’t partisan—it’s *unconstitutional*. Your job isn’t to carry water for the executive branch. Your job is to *constrain* it, to debate, to investigate, and to say *no* when necessary. Enough abdication. Start acting like a co-equal branch of government before ours becomes just another failed republic where power goes unchecked. The voters are watching.
