I want to thank you for exercising oversight and touring the California City ICE detention facility. From the reports I have heard, conditions in these facilities are deplorable. We as a nation are responsible for those detained. Bad and insufficient food, foul water, lack of medical care, and exposure to abuse have all been reported. Even worse, these aren’t adjudicated criminals! Many are people who have been following the law and applying for (or who have actually attained) legal status and who present absolutely no danger to the American public. Thank you for looking into this.
