You need to protect NSF funding and independence. The Trump administration’s recent budget proposal suggests cutting science funding and removing important areas of research from the NSF’s research directorates. We need all of the current research directorates to remain funded and functioning, including the very important Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences. This important addition to the NSF’s research directorates has made it possible for countless social science discoveries to be made possible in the United States. The Trump administration is arbitrarily choosing to fund a war instead of funding science and education for no reason other than Trump’s own ego and Big Oil’s desire for blood. Do not get distracted with the budget proposals and ensure that NSF remains funded and diverse!
