Vote No on the Continuing Resolution
To: Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray
From: A constituent in Port Orchard, WA
September 26, 2025
I am writing to you today as a constituent from Port Orchard, Washington, to urge you to vote against the upcoming continuing resolution that would temporarily fund the government.
Passing another CR would not only be a failure of governance, but it would also serve as a capitulation to the massive political overreach being enacted by the GOP. Their attempts to use the essential function of government funding as leverage to advance an extreme agenda must be met with firm opposition.
Caving to their demands by passing a stop gap measure only rewards and enables these bad faith tactics.
This vote is a critical opportunity to send a clear message: partisan gamesmanship and legislative overreach will not be tolerated. It is time to stop governing by crisis and demand that the opposition party engage in a serious and responsible appropriations process, free from extremist policy riders.
I ask that you represent the Washingtonians who are demanding fiscal accountability and a check on this political overreach by voting 'NO' on this continuing resolution. Thank you for your time and consideration.
