I am writing to you today as a concerned constituent to express my deep frustration regarding the lack of federal accountability for Leslie Wexner in relation to the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking enterprise.
For too long, the American public has watched as the wealthy and well-connected appear to operate under a different set of rules than the rest of us. We are a nation of laws, and those laws must apply equally to everyone, regardless of their net worth or political influence.
Specifically, I am calling your attention to the following:
-- Co-Conspirator Designation: FBI documents from 2019 reportedly identified Mr. Wexner as a co-conspirator.
-- Credible Witness Testimony: Sworn testimony from individuals determined to be credible by investigators has directly implicated Mr. Wexner in criminal conduct.
-- Contradictory Statements: In his recent testimony before Congress, Mr. Wexner characterized his involvement as that of a "naive" bystander. However, the depth of his decades-long financial and personal ties to Epstein suggests a level of involvement that warrants a much more rigorous criminal investigation than has been conducted to date.
The Department of Justice’s primary duty is to ensure justice for victims and to uphold the integrity of our legal system. When individuals with immense resources are allowed to avoid scrutiny despite significant evidence, it erodes public trust in our institutions.
I urge you to use your oversight authority to demand that the DOJ conduct a full, transparent investigation into Mr. Wexner’s involvement in these crimes. Please ensure that our justice system does not favor the elite and that no one is "too wealthy" to face accountability.
I look forward to hearing about the steps you will take to address this matter.
