Donald Trump is offering $5,000 to voters to get them to support Republicans in the midterms. It’s a felony under U.S. Code 52 section 10307 to offer voters anything in exchange for their vote. Federal law says “Whoever . . . pays or offers to pay . . . for voting shall be fined not more than $10,000 or imprisoned not more than five years.” According to Lawrence Tribe, Trump’s offer is, in fact, an impeachable offense. He says, and I quote: “Bribery is…the second impeachable offense expressly named in the Constitution, right after treason.” NEED I SAY MORE?
