Demand Accountability for Russell Vought’s Assault on the Civil Service

I am writing as a constituent to express my deep concern regarding reports that the Office of Personnel Management may be altering or limiting the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey and withholding information from Congress about those changes.
If the administration is weakening, delaying, or manipulating this survey, Congress should view that as a serious threat to transparency and oversight. Federal employees deserve to have their voices heard, not silenced when morale is suffering.
I am especially troubled by the role of Russell Vought. He has repeatedly championed efforts to reduce the federal workforce, weaken civil service protections, and increase political control over career employees. Many Americans view these actions as an attempt to undermine an independent and professional civil service that serves the public regardless of which political party is in power.
The federal workforce exists to serve the American people. Career civil servants process Social Security claims, care for veterans, inspect food and medicine, respond to disasters, protect national security, and carry out laws passed by Congress. They should not be treated as political enemies or obstacles to a political agenda.
Congress must demand full transparency regarding any changes to the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, require OPM to release all planned revisions, and ensure that employee feedback is collected and reported honestly. The American people deserve an effective, professional, and nonpartisan civil service, and federal employees deserve leaders who value their expertise rather than seek to silence or intimidate them.
I urge you to publicly oppose any effort to undermine the integrity of the federal workforce survey and to hold Russell Vought and this administration accountable for actions that erode transparency, morale, and public trust. The federal government functions best when employees can speak honestly about workplace conditions without fear that their voices will be ignored, manipulated, or suppressed.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing what actions you will take to protect the integrity of the federal civil service and ensure that transparency and accountability remain fundamental principles of government.
