Call for ceasefire, arms embargo on Israel, peace negotiations
To: V.P. Harris
From: A constituent in Phoenix, AZ
August 21
The escalating violence in Gaza has claimed too many innocent lives and caused immense suffering for both Palestinians and Israelis. A ceasefire is urgently needed to halt the deadly airstrikes and rocket attacks, and create the conditions for a lasting peace agreement. The US government should impose an arms embargo on Israel and cease supplying weapons that enable the violence. The only path forward is through diplomacy and dialogue, not further military action that perpetuates the cycle of violence. Imposing an immediate ceasefire and committing to revived peace negotiations would demonstrate moral leadership and a commitment to regional stability. I urge you to use your influence to advocate for an immediate cessation of hostilities, a US arms embargo on Israel, and a return to the negotiating table. The enormity of human costs demands decisive action to end this tragic conflict.
