Ed Martin's media disclosures require scrutiny for U.S. Attorney role
To: Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla
From: A constituent in Northridge, CA
April 30
After carefully reviewing the CNN article, it is evident that Ed Martin has failed to fully disclose nearly 200 media appearances, many of which were on far-right and Russian state media outlets. This lack of transparency raises serious concerns about his suitability for the role of U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C. It is imperative that nominees for such a critical position demonstrate complete honesty and accountability throughout the vetting process. In light of these concerning omissions, I urge you to vote against or place a hold on Ed Martin's confirmation until he provides a comprehensive accounting of all his media appearances and addresses these discrepancies satisfactorily. As the nation's top federal prosecutor for the capital, maintaining public trust and confidence in the impartial administration of justice is paramount. Mr. Martin's actions call into question his ability to uphold those standards. A thorough review of his disclosures is warranted to ensure the integrity of this important office.
