Prevent humanitarian crisis in Gaza, uphold human rights

The devastating Israeli bombardment of Gaza has rendered living conditions unbearable and unlivable for Palestinians trapped in the besieged territory. As reported by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), many civilians are forced to take shelter in bombed-out buildings or live amidst towering piles of waste, raising alarming risks of disease outbreak. Overnight attacks have continued to claim innocent lives, including a young girl in Deir el-Balah. These relentless assaults on a densely populated enclave with no means of escape constitute grave violations of international law and human rights. An immediate and permanent ceasefire must be implemented to stem this unfolding humanitarian catastrophe and facilitate the urgent delivery of aid to Gaza's beleaguered population. Sustained diplomatic efforts are crucial to achieve a just resolution to the conflict that upholds the rights and dignity of all peoples.
