Defend citizen voting rights through federal election reforms

To: Sen. Ernst, Rep. Feenstra, Sen. Grassley

Congress must take urgent action to protect the sacred right to vote by enacting comprehensive legislation to counteract rampant voter suppression tactics across the nation. The evidence demonstrates that millions of eligible voters, disproportionately people of color, had their voices silenced through discriminatory purges, rejected mail-in ballots, and illegitimate voter challenges. Despite claims of "election integrity," these suppression methods are blatant attempts to disenfranchise specific communities and undermine faith in our democracy. Stringent federal laws are imperative to safeguard equal access to the ballot box, ensure all valid votes are counted, and preserve the will of the people as the foundation of our republic. Inaction is unacceptable when core democratic principles hang in the balance. Congress has a moral obligation to decisively defend every citizen's fundamental voting rights.
