I am writing about my extreme disappointment that you, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, opted to vote YES on the National Defense Authorization Act in the house. There is a provision that severely limits transgender youth's access to gender affirming care, which was added by the house speaker without expert medical opinions. Gender affirming care for transgender youth is life saving and medically necessary for those individuals, especially if they have gender dysphoria. While this bill does authorize the Department of Defense's budget, I hope that you, Senator Murray, will oppose this bill in the senate until the provision on gender affirming care for youth is removed, please and thank you.
