We all deserve dignity, safety, and the assurance that our government will uphold the law and protect its citizens. What we witnessed on Saturday, January 24, 2026, and over the past several months by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and their hired, incompetent "agents" in Minnesota, Chicago, Los Angeles, and other communities that have not made national news is deeply troubling. These "agents" are endangering children, citizens, and communities with their aggressive and violent tactics. This is not who we are as a nation or as a moral society. America is not a country of secret police where men, women, and children live in fear of going to work, school, or the grocery store.
Ohioans and all Americans deserve elected officials who serve their people and do not bow to an orange deity. I urge you to demand immediate accountability from DHS and to withhold any further funding to their agencies until they fully answer for the egregious actions they have committed.
This is a defining moment for our country and for you as an elected official whose duty is to protect and serve all people, remaining silent in the face of these abuses signals disrespect and contempt for America and a willingness to normalize the brutality and inhumanity perpetrated by the federal government.
We must stand united against these violations and uphold the values that truly define our nation.
