ICE claims it can indiscriminately arrest people without a warrant. That is a direct violation of the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment. ICE ‘officers’ are not affording those ‘arrested’ due process. That means those are not arrests. Those are abductions. That is a direct violation of the Constitution’s Fifth Amendment. ICE ‘officers’ are targeting and abducting peaceful protesters. That is a direct violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment. ICE ‘officers’ are beating and shooting peaceful protesters. That is a direct violation of the Constitution’s Eighth Amendment. A Minnesota judge says ICE has violated nearly 100 court orders in Minneapolis in the past month. With no repercussions. Is this poorly-trained paramilitary organization truly above the law? If they’re not breaking the law, why are they masked and why don’t they like their actions being recorded? How many more US citizens will ICE kill before it is held accountable for its lawlessness? You, as a member of Congress, have the power to stop all this. You have the authority to hold ICE ‘officers’ accountable to the laws of our nation. Will you do so? Or will your lasting legacy be standing idly by while they shred our Constitution? My wife and I urge you to demand ICE ‘officers’ adhere to the Constitution and follow the laws of our country.
