Oppose the SCREEN ACT

To: Sen. Heinrich, Sen. Luján

From: A constituent in Rio Rancho, NM

March 6

I am writing to urge you to oppose Mike Lee’s SCREEN ACT. This bill is not what it claims to be, a measure to protect children from explicit materials online, it is an attempt to track online activity of adults. It is parent’s responsibility to monitor their children’s online activity and take measures to ensure the content their children have access to is age appropriate. It is not within the governments scope of power to violate citizens right to privacy in their online activity. Again, parents are responsible for what content their children consume. The privacy of everyone should not be infringed upon because people don’t want to parent their own children.
