I am responding to Senator McCormick‘s communication about the role of DOGE, which was sent out to PA constituents voicing concerns. None of us want there to be fraud or waste in our government. However, these indiscriminate and unconstitutional mass firings are simply not the way to combat the issue. There is a huge loss of institutional knowledge when federal employees are terminated at the scale, with no opportunity to train their replacements. Furthermore, as I said before, Elon Musk and his team are not vetted individuals and have a proven history of international ties to our enemies, which should be extremely concerning given that they have unprecedented civilian access to our data. Senator McCormick‘s ignorance or willful misunderstanding of this issue is inexcusable. Your constituents are not going to let up because we are frankly terrified of how our government is being dismantled, and we unfortunately are depending on you to be our voice in Washington. Please think outside your own interests and speak out on behalf of the Americans who are going to suffer due to mass layoffs, gutting of Medicaid and SNAP benefits, slashes to NIH, and more key programs a selfish billionaire has determined “fraud.” Vote against the proposed budget which will only benefit the wealthy and strip Americans of services they are depending on. Join your Republican colleagues who are pressing Trump to justify DOGE’s actions and protect the rights of your constituents.
