Don’t pass funding for ICE until basic accountability and human rights protections are enforced.
No federal agency should receive funding while operating behind masks, without body cameras, or without clear standards that protect due process and public safety. Transparency and accountability are prerequisites for lawful enforcement—not optional add-ons.
Any future funding must be conditioned on clear requirements: no masked operations; mandatory body cameras for all field activity; minimum, standardized training that includes de-escalation, constitutional limits, and trauma-informed practices; and independent investigation and prosecution of all known—and newly discovered—human rights violations.
Unchecked enforcement erodes trust, harms families, and violates the Constitution. Conditioning funds is how Congress enforces the rule of law.
Withhold ICE funding until these safeguards are in place and enforced. Protect rights first—then talk about appropriations.
