Why are we at war without congressional approval? This Republican administration has unilaterally decided to go to war with Iran, in direct contradiction of the Constitution. Why are you tolerating this? This administration has illegally taken power from you and your fellow members of Congress, yet neither you nor your colleagues have pushed back. Are you willingly surrendering your constitutional duty? Is our Constitution still valid? Meanwhile, Russia and China are celebrating. The billions of dollars we are spending on this needless war have been taken from taken from needed domestic programs. Prices are on the rise. This war is actively hurting the American people. On your watch. The damage is here. Canada refuses to participate in offensive operations with us. Germany says this is not their war. Spain blocked use of bases. Our closest allies now calculate that any help they provide will be forgotten within days. Congress must immediately reassert its constitutional authority over foreign policy before this administration's erratic actions permanently destroy our alliances and national security. Congress has the power to restrict military action. My wife and I urge you to use it now before we have no allies left.
