Close Alligator Auschwitz

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Van Duyne

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

July 6

I lived in Florida and camped in the Everglades numerous times. The tent facility quickly constructed there for “detained immigrants” is a death camp, designed to kill its occupants slowly and painfully. They will die in agony from heat stroke, mosquito-borne disease, snake bites and hurricanes. They will die of cholera, dysentery and typhoid. None of the occupants were afforded due process—this is a concentration camp where innocence or guilt don’t matter. How many of its occupants have no criminal record? How many are U.S. citizens? With no due process, we have no way to know. This Republican administration is conducting political theater with innocent brown peoples’ lives. Knowingly holding people in such atrocious conditions is a crime against humanity and is the sort of transgression punished in the International Criminal Court. Do you support this death camp? If not, why are you saying nothing? Why are you doing nothing? Please do the right thing, the moral thing, the Christian thing—close Alligator Auschwitz now. To not do so will leave the blood of innocents on your hands. We should be better than this. We used to be better than this.
