Attorney General Ken Paxton’s announcement of undercover operations to “infiltrate and uproot leftist terror cells” is reckless and dangerous. This language vilifies everyday Texans and fosters fear instead of facts. When officials label political disagreement as terrorism, they abandon their oath to serve the public.
This isn’t the first time Paxton has used his office to punish opposition. He has pushed to remove elected lawmakers and declared entire communities suspect based on ideology.
A public servant who targets people based on identity or political belief is not protecting Texas. He is weakening the rule of law. Paxton’s rhetoric doesn’t belong in a democracy. It echoes autocrats who see dissent as a threat, not a right.
You have a duty to act. I urge you to censure Paxton and pursue his removal for dereliction of duty. Defend all Texans, not just the ones who agree with you.
