End TSA-ICE Data Sharing Now

To: Sen. Padilla, Rep. McClintock, Sen. Schiff

From: A verified voter in El Dorado Hills, CA

September 10

Every day, millions of travelers hand over sensitive personal information, including names and birth dates, to board a plane. We share this information under the assumption that it will be used for travel safety, not to turn airports into immigration enforcement traps or expand government surveillance. Congress needs to put an end to data sharing between ICE and TSA. The Trump administration has already deployed ICE agents to airports as a direct result of this arrangement. That data was collected for aviation safety, and using it as an immigration enforcement tool is a fundamental betrayal of that purpose. Congress has the authority to stop it and the obligation to act before this becomes permanent infrastructure.
