GET BACK TO WORK. The House has worked for, what, 12 or 14 days in three months. I understand that most Democratic reps are not taking their salaries. Most GOP are. Most Dems are in Washington. Most GOP are not. Do you realize how corrupt this is? Do you see how degrading it is from an institutional point of view? The GOP House reps, who passed a bill this year putting burdensome work requirements on Medicaid recipients, have themselves worked 14 days since July 25. And yet they have better health insurance than those they are honored to serve. Now Americans are about to be hungry because Trump refuses to use available funds appropriated for SNAP. Your collective inaction, truancy, and failure to exercise your constitutionally enshrined roles and duties, is going to make Americans hungry. Children, starve. And meanwhile Adelita Grivalja's district has been without the representation which is their legal right for 37 days. The longest such delay ever. Mike Johnson has effectively dissolved Congress. Mike Johnson has handed the power of the house to Trump: "Johnson has “chosen to make himself subservient to Mr. Trump” instead of a “governing partner” as speakers before him have been. The president is taking notice. “I’m the speaker and the president,” Trump reportedly said to associates." Every American should be outraged by this monumental abuse and truancy. Please condemn it publicly and educate your constituents about it. Please introduce a motion to vacate the chair as soon as you can. The salaries of the speaker and leaders have been reported as: Speaker of the House: $223,500 Majority & Minority Leaders (House and Senate): $193,400. No one who skips work like Mike Johnson and his colleagues should be drawing a salary or having health insurance at our expense. STOP THIS FARCE NOW
