As your constituent and a veteran, I am writing to express my deep concern regarding a recent communication distributed by the Department of Veterans Affairs in relation to the government shutdown. The newsletter I received was filled with openly partisan rhetoric that has no place in a government agency tasked with serving veterans and service members.
The Department of Veterans Affairs is supposed to operate as a nonpartisan institution, dedicated solely to the welfare of those who have served. To see it used as a platform for political attacks is both inappropriate and deeply disappointing. This type of conduct undermines trust in the VA and disrespects the very individuals it is charged to support.
I am formally requesting that you pursue a full and transparent investigation into this matter. Veterans and service members deserve to know why a federal agency entrusted with our care is engaging in what appears to be partisan propaganda. At the very least, the leadership responsible for this decision must be held accountable, and clear safeguards must be established to prevent future abuses of the VA’s communication channels.
As your constituent, I expect answers. This is an urgent matter of government integrity, respect for veterans, and the preservation of a truly nonpartisan VA.
Thank you for your attention to this serious issue. I look forward to your response and action.
