The proposed $20 billion sale of U.S. weaponry to Israel is deeply concerning and must be stopped. Senator Sanders is right to pledge a resolution to block this arms deal, as the Israeli government has repeatedly violated international law by using American weapons against Palestinian civilians and humanitarian operations in Gaza. It is unacceptable to provide additional arms that will perpetuate this violence and human rights abuses. Israel has already massacred over 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza using U.S. weapons. Enabling further carnage and potential war crimes is unconscionable. This massive arms sale would fuel not only the genocide of Palestinians but escalating regional conflict. Congress has the authority and moral obligation to prevent these weapons transfers from moving forward. I urge you to support Senator Sanders' upcoming resolution to block this $20 billion arms sale to Israel. Suspending military aid is the only way to pressure the Israeli government to change its abusive policies and work towards a just peace agreement that respects Palestinian human rights and self-determination. No more U.S. arms should be delivered until there is a radical shift in Israel's treatment of Palestinians. Concrete action must be taken to stop American complicity in these grave injustices.
