Fiscal year 2026 appropriations

To: Rep. Onder, Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley

Our nation is facing a crisis, thanks to you: Extreme cuts have been made to Medicaid, SNAP, and other highly popular core programs in order to pay for separating families, human rights abuses, and terrorizing hardworking immigrants — people essential to our care workforce, our economy, our communities, our families, and our future. Our nation needs a safe and orderly immigration process that balances compassion and security, not cuts to healthcare and not cruelty. ⚠️ Immediately secure accountability measures and scale back funding for ICE in the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations bills. The full-year Continuing Resolution passed in March 2025 handed the Trump administration a blank check and stripped you in Congress of key oversight powers, hollowing out key watchdog bodies. WTF. No administration should be given unchecked power to weaponize federal dollars against communities across the nation while depriving Congress of its constitutional role in oversight! Recent polling shows that the Trump regime’s immigration policies are increasingly and extremely unpopular. America’s families know that immigrants are critical to our care workforce, our economy, our businesses, our families, and our communities. 🗑️ REJECT proposals that pour even more money into cruelty. 🚫 STOP the cuts to health, education, nutrition, and disaster relief programs, all of which are programs that lift our families, business, and the economy.
