I am writing to you today as a deeply alarmed constituent. Our country is facing multiple simultaneous crises that demand your immediate action.
This morning, President Trump launched "Operation Epic Fury" — a major military assault on Iran — without a declaration of war from Congress, as required by the Constitution. Iran has already retaliated with missile strikes across the Middle East, hitting the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain. Sen. Tim Kaine has called the strikes "idiotic" and unconstitutional. Even former Defense Secretary Mark Esper has warned that the U.S. is not prepared for an extended campaign. American lives are now at risk in a war nobody voted for.
At the same time, an NPR investigation confirmed this week that the DOJ illegally withheld over 50 pages of FBI interviews from the Epstein files — files containing serious allegations of child sexual abuse against the president. House Oversight Democrats have opened a formal investigation. Republicans on the same committee say they are looking into it as well. This is not partisan spin. It is a documented cover-up of evidence related to crimes against children.
No president is above the law. No president has the right to drag this country into a Middle East war without Congress. And no Justice Department should be allowed to bury evidence of child abuse to protect the person who appointed it.
I am calling on you to support a War Powers Resolution to stop this unauthorized war, to demand the immediate release of all withheld Epstein files, and to begin impeachment proceedings. The Constitution gives you this power for exactly this moment. Use it.
I will be watching, and so will my community.
Respectfully, A Constituent
